About the Dave Chaney Memorial Fund
Our Journey
The Dave Chaney Memorial Fund was established to commemorate the life of Dave Chaney. Dave had a big heart and was loved by so many. He was kind, generous, and funny. His smile and laugh lit up any room he walked into. To honor his memory, we began hosting golf outings in 2022, aiming to transform our grief into a legacy of hope and healing.
Our organization gained official non-profit status in 2024 and is dedicated to supporting those facing the challenges of mental health and substance use disorder. With every event and donation, we strive to help individuals and families find the resources they need to overcome these battles. Together, we have made a difference.

Dave grew up playing sports. He was a great athlete, enjoyed the competition, and had a special love for hockey and golf. Dave was a hard worker and he cared deeply for his family, friends, and teammates. He had a tendency to make you smile, with his quick wit and sarcasm, especially on the days you needed it most. Dave will forever be in our hearts.

The memorial golf outing is held annually at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Macomb, Michigan.
On the sign up form, there is an option to sponsor a hole. You do not have to be a golfer to sponsor a hole.
